As my Month Of Healthy Skin segment comes to a close, I wanted to reflect for a moment on all I have learned about the largest organ of the body, our skin. As I think back to the very first week of this journey, I remember all the things I never even thought of doing to my skin to make it healthier. It’s been an awesome month though and to end things I want to discuss colored concealers. I know concealer has been a pretty popular topic this week, but it’s for good reason. I think we know what concealer does, it conceals! But there is more to them than that. There are different colored concealers for areas that normal concealer just won’t cover. Now before you go all rainbow bright, let’s see what the colors do.
Green-Covers redness splotches and rosacea. Green can also cover an all over ruddy color. Go for a minty shade and layer under foundation for an even blend. Green can also cover dark circles depending on how purple your under eye circles are.
Purple– Can help with any dull yellow colors or brighten olive complexions. It can also cover pesky green veins if you have them on the insides of the bridge of your nose like me. Try a lavender shade
Yellow-Use as a face brightener or primer. You can also use yellow to cover the redness from pimples.
The thing to remember when using colored concealers is to not use too much. It’s easy to color correct the wrong way and should be used lightly. When in doubt of which color to use, refer to the color wheel! Use colors opposite each other.
